Yodit

Pronounced: YŌ-deet

Yodit came to Ebenezer in March 2025 being 35 weeks pregnant. She had been taken advantage of by a young man she had known and had hid the pregnancy from him as well as many of her family and friends. Her most immediate family felt ashamed of the state she was in as an unmarried young lady, so they wanted to hide the pregnancy from their community. They asked if we could take care of her until after she gave birth. Expecting her to leave the child at the hospital immediately after giving birth, they were surprised that she had chosen to keep the baby and to continue living at Ebenezer to receive the support she needed as a new mother. Yodit and Mira are both living happy and peaceful lives at Ebenezer.
