Lemlem's Story

This 2017 video shares the remarkable story of Lemlem. She is a widowed, mother of six, in her mid thirties, that is partially paralyzed as a result of a stroke she suffered. She and her children are now part of the Ebenezer family in Hawassa, Ethiopia. Her story is one of God’s work in making beauty from ashes.

Though the ministry of ESMAfrica (ESMA) initially began through serving orphaned and vulnerable children of Ethiopia, the scope of the ministry also includes supporting families in many different ways. While four of her children now live at Ebenezer Grace to make attending school easier, ESMA continues to support Lemlem by giving her a monthly stipend to cover the costs of food as well as someone to assist her in cleaning. Her children visit her often.

Buzayew's Story

This 2017 video shares Buzayew’s story. Buzayew has seen quite a lot in her young life. Her name actually means “I’ve seen much,” so it’s quite fitting. Being in the presence of her mother when she passed away from tuberculosis, Buzayew has seen much sorrow indeed. She speaks about how Ebenezer has become her new home and new family.
